Can Cavaller

The villages

The Ampurdán is full of charming villages, tortuous streets with stone houses and large farmhouses that show the interesting architecture of the area.

The villages are mostly agricultural, with some houses recently restored.​

It is a quiet area and unknown by tourism, with exuberant nature.​

2km away from Can Sort there is the small town of Vilaur, with its small square, its wall and several impressive "pairales houses". On the other side Calabuig on a hill with views that reach the sea, both of about 70 inhabitants.​

4 km away in Bàscara and Camallera we can find shops, bar, train and bus. Other very close towns of interest are: Sant Mori, Saus, Vilopriu, Gausas, Orfes, Colomers, Arenys d'Emporda, Vilajoan, Palau de Santa Eulàlia etc......

The rivers

The Fluvià river passes 2 km away, there are areas where it is possible to bathe, its basin is very rich in vegetation.

Beaches

At 17Km. from Can Sort, there is Sant Martí de Ampúrias, with pleasant coves surrounded by pine trees. There is a tour to visit them on foot, passing the Greco-Roman ruins and reaching up to l'Escala. Also, at about 15km, there is the huge beach of Sant Pere Pescador, in the Bay of Roses, with some wild areas and others with campsites.

Even in August we can find places with few people. In Cap de Creus, leaving from Roses, the coves of Joncols, Montjoi and Pelosa are worth visiting for their cliffs and their steep landscape.​

Cities

​Barcelona is 125 km from the A-7 motorway, 1 hour by car.

In a radius of 25 Km. there are the small cities of Figueres, Girona, Banyoles, La Bisbal, La Escala and Rosas.
